To encourage Malaysians to stay home and stay safe, Astro is offering complimentary access to all their movie and news channels until 31 March 2020. Keep yourself informed on all the latest updates, binge-watch the latest season of Westworld, re-watch Avengers: End Game, or finally catch Parasite if you haven't watched it yet.

2. Celcom

Celcom has lined up some amazing deals for their users. You can now have up to three family lines at 50% off, letting you stay in touch and check in with your loved ones. They are also slashing Celcom Mega Lighting and Mega Unlimited to half price, so you can shop safely from your home.

Plus, Digi is also offering free calls to National and State Health Department hotlines. And you can even access various official websites for free, so you can get the latest updates and/or seek online medical advise without using up your Internet quota.

7. TNB

According to an article by the New Straits Times, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Datuk Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah has announced that all electricity consumers nationwide will be given discounts on their electricity consumption bills.

“The government has agreed to provide a 15% discount on electricity consumption from 1 April to 30 September 2020 to six selected business sectors impacted directly from the outbreak of COVID-19 - hotel operators, travel and tourism agencies, shopping complexes, convention centres, theme parks, and local airlines offices," he said in a statement.

He also announced that all users in the domestic or residential category will enjoy a 2% discount on their electricity consumption bill, for the six-month period of 1 April - 30 September 2020.

“This means that people will enjoy a 2% discount during the period, in addition to the 6% discount already being enjoyed by domestic consumers for the period from 1 January to 30 June 2020,” said Shamsul.

8. U Mobile

Staying at home doesn't have to mean feeling isolated. U Mobile is giving their users twice the amount of data hotspot for free, for you to share with the others in your house. How much free data hotspot you'll get depends on which U Mobile plan you're using.

9. Various banks

Several banks in Malaysia have introduced moratoriums – a delay of loan repayments, of up to six months.

If you have outstanding bank loans and face challenges paying them, you could benefit from these financial assistance programmes. Some banks are even offering moratoriums on mortgages and credit cards, on a case-by-case basis.

However, each bank has its own programme, so make sure you find out more on their website or call the bank for further clarification.
