CelcomDigi Introduces Easy New Way For M'sians To Compete In Sports & Esports
Aspiring athletes will find many opportunities to showcase their talents.
Malaysians can now step into the world of competitive sports and esports with Arena CelcomDigi — a new initiative to promote active lifestyles
Arena CelcomDigi will kick off in 2025 with three sporting disciplines — esports, pickleball, and lawn bowling — with an aim to raise awareness, encourage Malaysians to pick up sports, and provide hopeful up-and-coming athletes with opportunities to compete both nationally and internationally.
CelcomDigi has already backed some of Malaysia's best esports teams, and Arena CelcomDigi aims to take that further, providing an avenue for new talents to thrive
If you follow esports closely, you might recognise powerhouse names such as CelcomDigi Alliance (PUBG Mobile) and Selangor Red Giants (Mobile Legends: Bang Bang) — both known to be dominant in their respective titles and officially sponsored by CelcomDigi.
CelcomDigi is also paving the way for promising names by launching initiatives such as:
- Future Pros Bootcamp: A programme to train young talent and help them break in to the esports scene.
- Healthy Gaming Campaign: A school tour that promotes responsible gaming habits and digital wellbeing.
In terms of sports, with pickleball now taking Malaysia by storm, CelcomDigi is making it even more accessible for all to play
If you've been to a park or local sports centre lately, you've probably seen people playing pickleball. The sport has exploded in popularity across Malaysia, attracting players of all ages thanks to its easy-to-learn rules and fast-paced gameplay.
To support the growing community, CelcomDigi is partnering with ESM Pickters Club to introduce:
- Coaching clinics to help new players improve their skills
- Community outreach programmes to make the sport even more accessible
- Regional tournaments where enthusiasts can compete and level up their game
And with Malaysia currently ranked No. 1 in lawn bowling globally, CelcomDigi is taking steps to ensure it stays that way
Lawn bowling may not be as well-known as other sports, but Malaysia is actually a global powerhouse in the game.
To keep our winning streak alive, CelcomDigi is teaming up with the Malaysia Lawn Bowls Federation to launch:
- School-based programmes to introduce the sport to younger generations
- Community clinics where Malaysians can try lawn bowling for themselves
- Specialised training programmes to develop future national players
