It's never good to judge someone's intentions, like the monkey in these viral videos teaches us

Yesterday, 25 October, Facebook user Romy Shah posted videos of a monkey appearing to 'kidnap' a kitten in its arms.

The post has received over 31,000 shares at the time of writing.

The first video showed the monkey carrying the kitten as it walked along a house ledge

Meanwhile, another cat was seen sitting below them watching the whole 'hostage' situation take place.

But what initially looked like a kidnap suddenly turned into a heartwarming moment as the monkey began to tenderly pick out the kitten's kutu and eat it

Apes and monkeys usually 'groom' each other by picking out debris or fleas. It's considered a social action similar to humans cuddling each other.

After completing its grooming session, the monkey continued to hold the kitten in its arms like a mother holding its child

Moral of the story? Sometimes love comes from the people you least expect.
