A walrus was treated like an absolute princess as zoo keepers threw a wholesome birthday bash for the marine mammal in a recent viral video
The zoo, Dalian Sun Asia Ocean World in northeast China, shared the heartwarming video on Douyin celebrating the walrus' 8th birthday on 24 March.
The video shows the room decorated with helium balloons, as one of the keepers covers the walrus' eyes, setting up the surprise: a "cake" crafted from a towering pile of fresh fish, complete with cake toppers and a glowing "8" candle.
The walrus sported a cute pink crown, looking every bit like birthday royalty
Zoo keepers appeared from behind a window, waving their phones with flashing lights and humming the chorus of "Happy Birthday".
It's hard to say if the birthday walrus fully grasped what was going on, as the mammal stared blankly into the camera ahead.
After the song ended, the walrus emitted a whistling sound as it pursed its lips to blow out the candle.
To complete the celebration, the staff hand-fed the walrus with its special fish "cake" and even presented the walrus with a bucket resembling a bubble tea
They then raised their own bubble tea in a toast to the walrus' birthday.
