A Japanese YouTuber recently chose his grandmother as his guinea pig to carry out a 'study' about how long it takes for people to notice a person up on the ceiling

Sushi Ramen Riku, who has over 4.3 million subscribers, decided that the best way to do it is to camouflage himself in the ceiling.

He then donned a white ninja suit with some heavy make-up, making him look as if every bit of our nightmare has become a reality.

Riku attached himself to the ceiling with the help of his grandfather

They used buckle straps to hold Riku against the ceiling and waited patiently for the grandma to return home.

Upon reaching home, she failed to notice her grandson and went about her chores while chatting with her husband

Riku's grandfather also tried to make her look up the ceiling by asking her to place his red bean pancakes on the dining table.

Unfortunately, she still failed to notice her grandson.

After a while, Riku's grandmother finally settled down on a chair right below him while holding a pair of socks

In order to get her attention, Riku began exhaling heavily in hopes that his breathing would eventually reach his grandmother.

Within seconds, the elderly felt an airy sensation and looked around before she glanced up and saw him.

She screamed and immediately ran into the kitchen.

"What is it? What is it exactly?" the grandmother could be heard saying in the video.

According to the Japanese YouTuber, it took his grandma an hour before she noticed him.

"It took too long for you to notice me! How long did you leave me stuck to the ceiling? My neck has reached the limit of endurance, already," Riku says to his grandma.

Riku concluded that his "study" revealed that he was not noticed at all.
