This Guy Built An Elaborate Smelly Glitter 'Bomb' To Get Revenge On Package Thieves

If you've ever thought of stealing someone's package from their porch, maybe think twice because former mechanical engineer with National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Mark Rober is about to show you why
"About seven months ago, I noticed a package being reported as delivered but it never arrived," Rober explains in his YouTube video, which was posted on Monday, 17 December.
Upon checking his security cameras, Rober saw a couple - with backpacks on - out for a stroll. As they passed his house, one of them made a quick detour to Rober's porch and stole his delivered package.
"If you've ever been in a situation like this, you just sort of feel violated. And then I took this to the police and even with the video evidence, they said it's just not worth their time to look into - so you also feel powerless," he added.
"And I just felt like something needs to be done to take a stand against dishonest punks like this."
Over the next six months, Rober set off to engineer the perfect revenge - an elaborate glitter 'bomb'
"If anyone was going to make a revenge bait package and over-engineer the crap out of it, it was going to be me," Rober said.
Partnering with electronics maker Sean Hodgins, Rober made the most elaborate "bait" package that has:
- a GPS signal to track the package's location,
- four phones with wide-angle lenses, angled perfectly to capture the thief's reactions,
- a can of fart spray and a motor that would release five sprays from it every 30 seconds, and,
- a cup that will spin and fire multicoloured glitter in all directions.
The package even has a convenient charging port so that it can be used over, and over, and over again. Wonderful.
Fast forward to now, the package is now ready for a sneak attack.
Rober was at work when he received a notification that someone has taken his bait package.
Rober notes in his video that he doesn't run a prank channel, so he is "completely out of my comfort zone". The results are still hilarious nevertheless.
Rober even lent the bait package to his friends, so viewers get multiple highly entertaining shots of people getting glitter bombed.
