This 'Chonky' Cat Has Become The '#1 Tourist Attraction' In Poland

Medieval castles, museums, and beautiful parks are just some of the many tourist attractions in Poland.
But lately, a rather 'chonky' fellow has taken first place on the list of must-see sites.
Known as Gacek, which is Polish for 'long-eared bat', this black and white feline rose to fame after making an appearance in a YouTube documentary in 2020, which has since garnered over 752,000 views, according to Business Insider.
Gacek has received a 4.9 rating on Google Maps and has been declared as the "#1 tourist attraction in Szczecin" by a fan who created an Instagram profile for him.
In fact, the Business Insider report states that Gacek has even beaten other Szczecin hotspots, such as a Pomeranian Dukes' Castle built in 1346.
Along with that, Gacek has raked up over 178 reviews on Google, with one saying that "it's one of the most important things to see in Poland", and another commenting that he's "definitely not a dog"
Like many tourist attractions which get the occasional bad review, Gacek received a one-star review in 2022 for "stealing a sausage"
Gacek has even attracted international travellers, who flew in to meet him
"As expected, he didn't pay any attention to me which made the experience fully wholesome," wrote one visitor who flew in from Oslo, Norway.
"I am very fortunate to have come here and meet this distinguished gentle creature," wrote another, adding that he was allowed to rub his belly.
"It was worth travelling three hours to feel ignored by him. Recommended," wrote one visitor, according to Notes from Poland.
Even the occasional four-legged friend would pay Gacek a visit.
The cat lives in a wooden box outside a store, with a little sign that says to not disturb him when he's sleeping
Visitors are encouraged to avoid feeding him, but they can leave a treat or two in a sealed container, which will be opened by his owner.
