After all, we all have had enough of this year!

2020 has been extremely traumatic, to say the least

Life, as we know, has not been the same since the very start of this year.

First, the coronavirus was discovered, which has since then has killed more than 998,000 people around the world with no sign of the deadly pandemic coming to a stop. COVID-19 Numbers in Malaysia, which at one seemed under control with the virus transmission almost stopped, have begun to increase again.

Then a stretch of bad events unfolded.

To name a few of them, Australia was engulfed in apocalyptic wildfires. Earthquakes happened in Turkey and the Caribbean. Then an invasion by desert locusts hit large swathes of India and Pakistan.

However, the fact that COVID-19 is everywhere — and not just a shocking news event happening in some distant part of the world, like a plane crash or a wildfire — has affected almost everyone personally.

The virus has made us all do the things we never even thought about: panic buying toilet papers, social distancing, washing and sanitising our groceries, and going through lockdowns.

2020 has been so terrible that it was already being hailed as "the worst year ever" back in June. And with just three more months left to go, there is no sign of this year getting any better!

Enter Nando's

The social media pages of the South African restaurant chain that specialises in Portuguese-African food has been indulging in some — how to say — rather mysterious stunt since yesterday, 26 September.

Nando's wished everyone in Malaysia 'Selamat Hari Raya', a full four months late.

And now, the peri-peri chicken specialist is welcoming "the year of the Rat" while wishing everyone 'Happy Chinese New Year', eight months after its original date this year.

Nando's strange behaviour hasn't gone unnoticed

Thousands of Malaysians have been scratching their heads, wondering "what's going on?"

Seeing how it is the pandemic, some are really concerned about Nando's mental well-being, while others have tried to settle with the assumption that the Nando's admin might be using the Internet Explorer.

Some may say that Nando's might be in need of a new calendar:

But what if it's Nando's way of saying to rewrite 2020?

After all, we all have had enough of this year!

2020 has already taken so much from all of us that the idea that someone, somewhere may be trying to rewrite it is kind a comforting

As this person remarked, it's definitely the energy we need!

At least in Wuhan, life appears to be how it could have been in 2019 — before the COVID-19 pandemic — with people partying at nightclubs, packed music festivals, and hardly any face masks in sight:

So while we attempt to rewrite 2020, let's stop doing this:
