Malaysians Share The Most Generous Thing A Stranger Has Unexpectedly Done For Them
Awww, Malaysians can really be so sweet lah!

Let's face it, Malaysians really are super caring and generous, nawww we're the best lah :D
We cook extra food to share with our office peeps, we invite our neighbours to our open houses, and we even go out of our way to lend a helping hand to strangers. There's really #GoodnessInEveryone!
If you've ever been on the receiving end of a random act of kindness from someone you tak kenal pun, you'll know how it can totally make your day.
In collaboration with Cadbury Dairy Milk, we asked Malaysians to tell us about the most generous thing a stranger unexpectedly did for them.
Here are their stories:

1. "My 7-year-old special needs son tried to walk home by himself and went missing for an hour"
"We received a call from our son's school bus driver, saying that our son was missing. My husband rushed to school, and together with the driver and other teachers, they searched everywhere for him.
Almost an hour later, I received a phone call from a woman who said she was with our son, and that he was safe. She had spotted him trying to cross a very busy main road while she was eating lunch. She rushed to him and brought him to safety.
My son has speech difficulties and wasn't able to explain what was happening, but luckily this lady saw the tag on his bag with my details and called me to let me know he was safe. Later on he told us he thought the bus had left without him so he decided to walk home.
I am so grateful to that wonderful lady for going out of her way to help a lost child and bring him home safe. If it wasn't for her, I... don't even wanna imagine what would have happened to my beautiful baby boy."

2. "I was driving on the highway in the middle of heavy rain when my wipers suddenly stopped working"
"I legit couldn't see anything AT ALL and was terrified that I would get into an accident or something! Somehow, I managed to make my way to the side of the road and stop. I was planning to wait for the rain to stop before calling for help, and in the meantime, I was just trying to calm down.
Out of nowhere, a young Malay guy on a motorbike pulled up and asked me what was wrong. He ended up fixing my wipers for me while getting drenched in the pouring rain. I wanted to get out of my car and hold an umbrella for him but he said tak payah and wouldn’t even let me pay him as thanks.”

3. "I went to buy groceries and only realised that I forgot to bring my wallet when I was at the cashier"
“And I didn’t know how to use an e-wallet either. I was so malu and was about to leave when the guy behind me paid for my groceries instead. Summore, it wasn't that cheap! I asked for his bank account details so I could pay him back later, but he said I didn't have to."

4. "I went to buy nasi lemak bungkus tepi jalan from this mak cik, and someone had come earlier in the morning and paid for every packet in advance"
"So whoever came after got to eat as many as they want for free! Such a nice gesture lah."

5. "While I was on the LRT, I suddenly started losing my vision and feeling like I was going to pass out"
"I literally couldn't see anything and felt like I couldn't breathe. The train wasn't at my stop yet but I knew I had to get off. I blindly stumbled my way off the train, with my hands outstretched in front of me, trying to feel where I was going.
Suddenly, I felt a lady grab my hands and ask if I was okay, then guide me to a nearby bench. I accidentally ended up sitting on her at first before she helped me sit down properly lol.
She stayed with me the whole time until I felt better and even gave me a sweet in case my blood sugar was low. I felt so much safer with her by my side."

6. "A random stranger once stopped their car to give me a lift, after they noticed I was walking while limping"
"This was before there were app-based transport services, and local cabs were not stopping for me. The stranger was nice enough to ask me what's wrong and then drop me at my place, despite not heading in the direction."

7. "A stranger saved me from kena saman"
"Once I parked without paying the parking ticket to go to the post office. When I was in the post office, I saw MBPJ officers giving out summons. In my heart I was thinking GG 'cause they sure saman me.
When I came out to my car, I saw someone had already paid for my parking and left the parking ticket on my car. Thank you stranger."

8. "I once dropped my wallet in the parking lot of a mall!"
"I only realized when I got home and it was really late by then, like around midnight-ish, so it's not like I could go back to check. I was freaaaaking outttt and already dreading the thought of having to go make police reports and replace everything.
Tetiba I got a Facebook message from a girl saying she thinks she found my wallet! After confirming my identity, I met up with her the next day to get it back. I'm so grateful that the person who found it was so nice and kind, phewww!

Cadbury Dairy Milk has also been doing their part to spread generosity by helping those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic
The pandemic and the resulting Movement Control Order (MCO) definitely impacted many lower-income households, many of whom struggled to put food on the table.
But if there's one thing that shone through during this difficult time, it was the goodness and generosity of the Malaysian people. Together we helped provide food necessities and warm meals for these communities.
And it wasn't just the rakyat, Cadbury Dairy Milk stepped up too. In line with their brand purpose of generosity, they partnered with Food Aid Foundation back in June. Together, they supported and fed 4,000 B40 families, with a total contribution of 360,000 meals.
They even invited frontliners to redeem free chocolate bars as a special treat, to thank them for their tireless service working long hours in stressful environments. <3
In line with their efforts in generosity, Cadbury Dairy Milk also has a fresh, new look that captures the much-loved chocolate brand's generous spirit
The new packaging also showcases the product's inherent goodness with a distinctive and modern twist.
Did you know that the founder, John Cadbury, made it a point to include a glass and a half of milk in every chocolate bar, instead of the standard one glass? That's how he created the classic, smooth taste of Cadbury Dairy Milk that we know and love until today!
This was his way of emphasising the brand's belief that There's Goodness in Everyone.
You'll also notice that the new packaging now includes a '100% sustainably sourced' logo in the corner. This is a testament to Cadbury Dairy Milk's long-standing commitment to cocoa farmers and the environment, through the Cocoa Life sustainability programme.
This has ensured that every Cadbury Daily Milk chocolate chunk is 100% sustainably sourced.
