A 10-Year-Old Boy Saved Up RM5,355 Of His Ang Pow Money To Buy His Mum A Diamond Ring

There is nothing better than a story of familial love to make a day brighter, like this 10-year-old boy in Hubei, China who saved up his ang pow money to buy his mother a diamond ring
According to SoraNews24, the boy had saved up 8,800 yuan (approximately RM5,355) of his Chinese New Year ang pow money in order to do so.
He took his mother to a jewellery store earlier this month to try on rings. Thinking it was a harmless joke, the child's mother had played along and tried on a few different rings.
The young boy apparently wanted to buy his mother a ring because he saw all his classmates' mothers wearing one
"He said he wanted to buy a diamond ring after seeing his classmates' mothers all wear diamond rings," a store employee said in a video, according to the Global Times.
They eventually settled on a ring that cost 8,100 yuan (approximately RM4,930).
When the boy's mother realised he was serious about buying the ring, she tried to leave the store - which caused him to burst into tears
So she turned to another tactic to make sure the boy saved his money, reported Global Times.
The same employee heard in the video said she pointed at a ring that costs 50,700 yuan (approximately RM30,830) and said, "Mum likes this one. You can save more money and buy this one for me later."
