Fans Fume As G-Dragon KL Concert Tickets Allegedly Resold By Scalpers For Up To RM28,000
A scalper even purportedly showed off having 300 tickets in a spreadsheet.
Fans are outraged after failing to secure tickets to K-pop royalty G-Dragon's solo concert in Kuala Lumpur, scheduled to be held at Axiata Arena Bukit Jalil on 19 and 20 July
Ticket sales to G-Dragon's 2025 World Tour, Übermensch, in Kuala Lumpur were opened to the general public at 2pm yesterday, 29 May.
This follows exclusive pre-sales on 26 and 27 May for official G-Dragon fan club members and Hong Leong Bank VISA Credit Cardholders.
However, many fans reported being stuck in unmoving virtual queues, despite clicking into the ticketing portal at exactly the stipulated time.
Under the hashtag #GDRAGONinKL on X, fans have accused the concert organiser, Star Planet, of failing to prevent scalpers — allegedly armed with bots — from bulk buying tickets before genuine fans had the chance.
Ticket scalping is the practice of buying multiple tickets for an event to later resell them at hiked prices to gain personal profit.
Ticket scalpers were quick to appear online, branding themselves as "trusted ticketing services" and reselling concert tickets at grossly inflated prices
Some showed off acquiring hundreds of tickets in spreadsheets, with one Instagram user claiming they secured 300 tickets to resell at prices starting from RM3,000.
For reference, here are the original ticket prices:
- VVIP – RM1,339
- VIP – RM1,239
- CAT 1 – RM999
- CAT 2 – RM799
- CAT 3 – RM459
In response, Star Planet issued a statement today, 30 May, affirming its stance against ticket scalping and unauthorised resales
"It has come to our attention that there's been multiple suspected cases of ticket scalping. These purchases are currently under further investigation.
"Any tickets identified as being scalped or resold at inflated prices will be voided at the organiser's sole discretion, without prior notice or refund," it said.
The organiser assured that these cancelled tickets will be available for purchase at a later date.
It also strongly urged fans to not purchase tickets from resellers and to only buy through official channels.
