[PICS/VIDS] How Tenacious D's Epic Gig Melted Our Faces (And Rocked Our Socks Off!)
Truly a legendary show worthy of the "Greatest Band In The World".

In a concert meant for the history books, comedy rock duo Tenacious D a.k.a. "The Greatest Band In The World" blew our Monday blues out of the water when they played KL Live on 1 December
Tenacious D's Live in KL is part of Urbanscapes' Satellite Show series leading up to the main event on 6 December 2014.
If you missed the concert, don't worry. Here are some of the truly epic moments from the almighty duo's concert to tide you over:
In what is probably one of the best opening performances we've ever seen, mad props to opening act Kyoto Protocol for presenting one of the night's most shocking plot twists - a drastic but well-received change-up in their set list
Knowing that most weren't familiar with their original songs, the band diverted from their "original" set list by playing a medley of classic love ballads and "sexy" tunes. It didn't take long for everyone to get pumped up and sing along!
Ending their set with Meatloaf's 'I'd Do Anything For Love', the KL-based rock outfit certainly left the crowd clamouring for more, proving that you can never go wrong with the classics. You keep doing what you do, Kyoto Protocol!
After a long wait, the rock gods finally descended upon us mere mortals and the crowd went absolutely NUTS. It was glorious... right down to Jack Black's eye-popping T-shirt.
Kicking off the long-awaited gig with 'Tribute', Tenacious D quickly made it clear that they weren't here to just play music for their fans, they even acted out the stories behind the songs!
The concert played out like a rock opera, which made for a uniquely fun experience with plenty of laughs along the way, thanks to the duo's whimsical antics and energetic performances
One time, Kyle walked off the stage in huff following an "explosive argument"... only to come back less than a minute later to hug it out of their systems. Jack Black didn't even have time to cry properly.
Jack Black also had a personal roadie who "pampers" him in between songs. Good thing they wrote a song called 'Roadie' in appreciation for all the roadies out there, especially this one!
Touring guitarist John Konesky also joined in the fun, participating in an otherwordly "rock-off" with the duo after "being possessed by Satan" in 'Beelzeboss (The Final Showdown)'
Wait, did we mention that everyone seemed to know the words to every single song? The crowd singing along made for an amazing atmosphere throughout the show, especially for songs that are less... polite.
Also, we need to talk about this out-of-place but awesome jazz interlude where Jack Black just sang random lines while Kyle Gass tried to play two recorders (or are they flutes?) at one time
Before we know it, the show is nearing its end as Jack Black introduced and thanked everyone involved... and even managed to slot in his unique version of Seal's 'Kiss From A Rose' in the process
Fans were already chanting for an encore while the band was lining up to take their bows, of which they obliged by returning onstage to play 'Wonderboy' and to everyone's delight (and surprise), the strangely docile 'F*** Her Gently'
All in all, this is - hands down - one of the best gigs we've ever been to. Jack Black and Kyle Gass energetic and theatrical performances kept us entertained and left us wanting more; we couldn't ask for more than that.
