One year after Wicked: Part One swept us off our feet and raked in over USD500 million (RM2.35 billion) at the global box office, the story continues with its final chapter.
Wicked: For Good is set to hit cinemas on 21 November, and it promises to be even more spellbinding.
Freshly dropped this week, the official movie poster shows Elphaba and Glinda dramatically facing off across two cliffs, with the tagline: "You will be changed".
This time, the stakes are higher, the tones are darker, and the emotions are dialled all the way up
In a chat with Entertainment Weekly, director Jon M Chu teased that while Part 1 was about making choices, Part 2 is all about dealing with the consequences. And if you know how the original musical ends… you know we're in for a ride.
Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande return as Elphaba and Glinda, but this time, their paths take a much heavier turn.
Elphaba is grappling with being villainised, while Glinda is caught up in the whirlwind of Oz's shifting political tides. Expect more magic, more drama, and maybe even a few tears.
The story builds up to that iconic duet — and we're already emotionally bracing ourselves
The movie leads into the musical number For Good, one of the most powerful friendship ballads in Broadway history. Ariana has even hinted that Elphaba's new solo might leave us wrecked (in the best possible way).
On top of fan-favourite tracks like No Good Deed, the legendary Stephen Schwartz has composed two brand-new songs just for the movie — because apparently, our feelings weren't fragile enough already.
