Born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Chloe Qisha is quickly becoming one of the most exciting new names in pop

Now based in London, the 26-year-old singer-songwriter is turning heads across the globe with her dreamy vocals and emotionally raw lyrics.

Interestingly, she has an undergraduate degree in psychology and masters in communication — but it was during her third year of studies that she decided to fully pursue music.

From releasing covers on SoundCloud and YouTube as a teen to being featured in top music magazines, Chloe's ascent has been nothing short of remarkable.

Even with less than a year in the professional music scene, she's already proving she's one to watch.

Her music deeply connects with Gen-Z listeners, and that emotional connection has helped skyrocket her to fame

Chloe's official debut came in July 2024, and by November, she dropped her first EP, Chloe Qisha.

This deeply introspective collection of songs was praised by NME for its "soulful lyricism and pure pop". For her very first single, VCR Home Video, she drew inspiration from personal experiences.

According to Bandwagon Asia, she stated that her debut single was inspired by her relationship with her parents and the pain she felt as their dynamic changed throughout the years.

What started as cover videos has evolved into sold-out performances, including her debut show at London's Bermondsey Social Club in October.

And then, it happened — worldwide-famous Kelly Clarkson sang one of Chloe's songs on her show

Chloe knew she made it when she found out about Kelly Clarkson covering her song, I Lied, I'm Sorry, on her Kellyoke segment on The Kelly Clarkson Show.

The moment sent waves across the Internet, bringing hundreds of thousands of new viewers to Chloe's music video and marking what many are calling her big break.

"Kelly Clarkson. This almost, fantasy, beautiful, human being," says Chloe, according to BBC. "It's such an honour, I feel so blessed,".

One milestone after another, Chloe was dubbed by Rolling Stone and NME as an artiste to watch

Chloe's rapid success hasn't gone unnoticed. According to BBC, she was recently named one of Spotify's Artists to Watch 2025.

Her breakout single, I Lied, I'm Sorry, was also featured on their curated playlist.

Her face has graced the covers of Rolling Stone UK and NME, and she's also been featured in Elle and Augustman. She's even sold out multiple shows, including two recent ones in March.

She still holds memories of Malaysia close to her heart, like "long drives up to Penang"

According to Bandwagon Asia, she vividly remembers long drives up to Penang to visit her relatives for Chinese New Year and hanging with her friends all day at the mall.

So, what can you look forward to from Chloe Qisha?

Having recently released her new EP, Modern Romance, Chloe is ready to take the world by storm.

She will be on her first-ever European tour starting 5 October, with stops in the UK, Belgium, France, and the Netherlands. Festival-goers can catch her live at The Great Escape in the UK and Bergenfest 2025 in Norway.

As for us Malaysians? We'll just have to keep our fingers crossed that she brings her magic home for a show soon!
