Rey, Jyn Erso, and of course, General Leia Organa proved to be driving forces behind the franchise's latest instalments, and now, we're about to add newcomer Rose Tico to the mix.

Tran, whose past works mostly include online comedy shorts and minor roles in short films, had almost given up on chasing her dreams of becoming actress until she was cast as a lead in 'The Last Jedi'. Not only is she the first Asian-American female to play a major role in the 'Star Wars' franchise, she also made history as the first Asian-American woman to be featured on the cover of Vanity Fair.
