Starting tomorrow, 17 July, a livestream event will be held to raise funds for those who have been hit the hardest during this pandemic

Organised by Projek Bangsa Malaysia, Derma Kilat Rakyat will host live performances for several hours non-stop, as a quick donation drive to aid in COVID-19 efforts.

The line-up includes local artiste Altimet, stand-up comedian Douglas Lim, actor Bront Palarae, along with other entertainers, sports champions, and various activists and public leaders

The aim is to raise RM3 million, which will be distributed to non-governmental organisations (NGOs) that have been providing pandemic relief to communities struggling to stay afloat during this pandemic.

"We're drowning in a sea of COVID-19, economic hardships, and 'leaders' who are fighting each other instead of fighting for us. The only way we will get out of this crisis is if we fight for each other," Projek Bangsa Malaysia wrote in its caption.

The event will begin at 11am this Saturday and will be broadcasted on Projek Bangsa Malaysia's Facebook

Projek Bangsa Malaysia is an initiative formed by Islamic organisation Angkatan Belia Islam Malaysia (ABIM) and youth group Projek Wawasan Rakyat.

Earlier this week, it released a viral video of frontliners detailing the reality of hospitals in Klang Valley that are currently battling against COVID-19.

The video has garnered over 609,000 views and 7,800 shares.
