The Malaysia Autoshow (MAS) 2025 is drawing to a close, with many notable highlights from the event
Ending this Thursday, 15 May, MAS 2025 is an annual event where major car brands showcase their newest and most exciting vehicles.
For those unable to attend the event in MAEPS Serdang, here's a rundown of some of the key highlights that have been making waves at the autoshow.
1. JAECOO Malaysia rebrands as OMODA | JAECOO

JAECOO Malaysia announced its rebranding to OMODA | JAECOO Malaysia, marking its first anniversary and aligning with Chery's global strategy. They also previewed the new OMODA C7 Neo Crossover.
2. The robust iCAUR V23 makes its debut

Another interesting debut in the EV scene comes from iCAUR, a new electric vehicle brand born from a collaboration between Chinese automaker Chery and Xiaomi's subsidiary, Smartmi Tech.
Targeting a younger crowd who want to make a statement, iCAUR aims for striking designs, smart tech, and versatility. Their V23 model definitely stands out with a bold, almost futuristic look — think sharp lines and unique lights, hinting at city driving with a touch of off-road capability, like an electric Suzuki Jimny with a strong personality.

3. Tesla steals the crowd's attention with a dazzling light show

Tesla showcased the brand-new Model Y, drawing attention with a fascinating light show. The display also highlights Tesla's advancements in artificial intelligence, with Optimus, their Tesla Bot, greeting people at the entrance.
Taking place on Monday, 12 May, Malaysia's largest Tesla Lightshow featured over 200 Tesla vehicles in a synchronised display of lights and music, forming a huge Tesla logo at MAEPS Square. This spectacular event aimed to break last year's record and wowed the audience with a celebration of the exciting world of electric vehicles.

4. The Nissan KICKS e-POWER series-hybrid EV now comes in a sportier version

Also making a debut at MAS 2025 is the new Nissan KICKS e-POWER IMPUL Edition, previewed by Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) and now available for booking nationwide.
Developed with the famous aftermarket tuner IMPUL Japan, this ultra-sporty version of the compact SUV amps up its looks, aiming for a more exciting and attention-grabbing presence that will help it stand out in its class. Customer deliveries are expected to start in July 2025.

5. Mercedes-Benz highlights high-horsepower luxury rides, offering attractive plans to entice car enthusiasts
Mercedes-Benz showcased its advanced engineering at MAS 2025 with three powerful models: the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE, the Mercedes-AMG EQE 53 4MATIC+, and the Mercedes-Benz C350e.
For those interested in pre-owned Mercedes-Benz vehicles less than two years old, they're showcasing the Young Star Agility+ payment plan, offering customisable ownership with flexible terms (one to four years) and mileage options (10,000 to 30,000km/year).
As a special offer for the autoshow, visitors who book a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle at the event will receive an exclusive RM2,000 voucher for merchandise and services at authorised Mercedes-Benz service centres nationwide.
6. Proton opens the floor for visitors to experience the first-of-its-kind interactive display

Under the theme "Inspiring Connections", Proton's booth showcased top models like the X50, X70, X90, and the best-selling S70 sedan. Visitors can also get a first look at Proton's second EV ahead of its official launch.
A key attraction is the unique 5D Instagrammable Experience with the S70, where visitors can design a custom wrap using an interactive screen and see it projected live onto the car.
