If you've ever opened Instagram on an iPad, you've probably wondered: why does this look… off?

For years, the absence of a proper Instagram app for Apple's tablet has been one of the more baffling oversights in tech.
It's not like Instagram is a niche platform, nor is the iPad some obscure gadget.
Both debuted in 2010, both are massively popular, and both are tailor-made for visual content.

Even more frustrating, Instagram boss Adam Mosseri has previously claimed there just aren't enough users asking for an iPad app — despite also admitting they get asked about it "a lot".
It's a circular kind of logic that's left many scratching their heads.
But finally, there's a glimmer of hope.

Details are thin — there's no launch timeline, no feature list, not even a teaser screenshot.
Still, the timing is curious. The decision reportedly coincides with increased pressure on TikTok in the US, suggesting Meta sees this as a strategic moment to strengthen Instagram’s foothold.
So yes, it's happening. Probably. Eventually. And when it does, iPad users might finally get the Instagram experience they've waited over a decade for.
