Originally known as iCAR in China, the brand was renamed iCAUR for international markets due to trademark issues. Despite the added letter, the brand is still pronounced as 'iCAR'.
You're probably wondering, "Who exactly is iCAUR, and what's so special about them?"

iCAUR is a new EV brand created through a partnership between Chinese auto manufacturer Chery and Smartmi Tech, which is part of Xiaomi.
They aim to produce electric cars with striking, bold designs, smart features, and versatility, aiming to appeal to younger people who want to stand out with a commanding presence and embrace new technology.
SAYS recently visited Shanghai for the Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition, where we got a first-hand look at the upcoming iCAUR V23

This isn't your typical staid EV — the V23 makes a statement with its unapologetically bold and almost futuristic design language. Think sharp lines, distinctive lighting signatures, and a stance that hints at both urban agility and a touch of off-road readiness. It's a Suzuki Jimny with an electrifying personality.

Beyond the commanding aesthetics, the V23 promises a compelling blend of smart technology and versatile functionality.
Being a product of a Chery-Xiaomi partnership, we can expect a seamlessly integrated digital ecosystem, likely incorporating intuitive infotainment, advanced connectivity features, and potentially even highly advanced driving assists and aids.

Aside from the V23, iCAUR recently teased another model arriving on Malaysian shores: The iCAUR 03
The iCAUR 03 embraces a distinctive, almost ruggedly boxy design that sets it apart from the current crop of electric SUVs.
While it was initially speculated to launch under Chery's JAECOO sub-brand as the J6, the teaser above — marked by its unmistakable light bars — confirms that this model will lead iCAUR's entry into Malaysia.

The iCAUR 03, already available in China, is a compact electric SUV with a focus on practicality and a touch of off-road flair in some variants.
You can catch both cars at the upcoming Malaysia Autoshow 2025
The Malaysia Autoshow 2025 is happening at MAEPS Serdang from 9 to 15 May, open from 10am to 10pm. You'll need tickets to attend the exhibition: RM20 for weekdays and RM25 for weekends and public holidays for a single-day entry.
