Earlier this year, Samsung announced that it would be bringing Samsung Wallet to Malaysia

Samsung Galaxy smartphone users should be familiar with Samsung Pay, which has allowed users to make payments effortlessly since being introduced in 2019.

Samsung Wallet is an extension of that, as it combines Samsung Pay and Samsung Pass, which means users can store digital keys, passes, vouchers, boarding passes, and even health passes, along with all their bank accounts and credit cards.

In simple terms, Samsung Wallet is a digital version of your physical wallet, where you can keep your money, payment cards, and other personal information safe — the entire Wallet is kept safe and secure as possible by allowing access through your biometric data as well as PIN number.

Here's how to set up Samsung Wallet on your smartphone:

1. First, check if Samsung Wallet is already installed on your phone

If you have a supported device like the new Samsung Galaxy A54 5G or Galaxy A34 5G, Samsung Wallet should be already installed on your phone. Here is the list of supported Samsung Galaxy devices.

If Samsung Wallet is not pre-loaded on your phone, you may not have the latest software. In this case, you should first download any available software updates from the "Settings" menu of your device.

Then, run Samsung Pay on your phone. Once you open the app, you will be prompted to download and install the complete app. This is because the full version of the app is not pre-installed.

2. Sign in to your Samsung account on Samsung Wallet

If you have an account already, simply enter your login details.

If you do not have a Samsung account, you must create one through Samsung Wallet. Once logged in, tap the "Start" button. Then, read and agree to the terms and conditions, and click the "Next" option.

3. Set up a verification method for Samsung Wallet

You can use the iris scanner (if your phone has one), the fingerprint reader, or the PIN option.

If you choose iris or fingerprint verification, the app will also require you to set up a four-digit Samsung Wallet PIN as a backup.

Once you've set up Samsung Wallet, you can start using it by adding your payment cards

You can add up to 10 payment cards to Samsung Wallet and start paying anywhere that accepts the service or has the NFC contactless payments symbol.

To add a payment card, simply run the app and tap the plus icon (+) over Payment cards. Next, just point your camera at your credit or debit card, and the app will automatically detect the card details. Alternatively, you can enter the details manually. Then, enter the CVV code and your name before tapping "Next" to validate your card.

You'll need to verify the card and may also need to provide a digital signature before you can start using it via Samsung Wallet.

The cool thing about Samsung Wallet is that it's super easy to use

You can swipe the screen up, tap on the app icon, or double tap the side key to open Samsung Wallet.

Then, it's as simple as tapping to pay, and you're done! No more digging through your pockets and holding up the line at the register!

Additionally, Samsung Wallet offers a host of other great features. You'll get to collect Samsung Rewards points that you can use at the Samsung e-Store or claim exclusive rewards from partner brands. Besides that, you can store loyalty cards, vouchers, and health passes, making Samsung Wallet your one-stop, worry-free app.

Samsung Wallet is now available on the new Samsung Galaxy A54 5G and Galaxy A34 5G, which come with limited time deals until 30 April
