A 26-year-old woman died after a man stabbed her several times in broad daylight in Klang on Monday afternoon, 18 December

South Klang district police chief ACP Cha Hoong Fong said the police had received a call from the public saying a woman was stabbed by a man at Jalan Bayu Linggi 5 in Taman Chi Liung.

According to Harian Metro, investigations found that at 1.20pm on Monday, the 26-year-old victim met the suspect at a restaurant and was stabbed next to a silver Chevrolet in a car park after they had eaten together.

"The suspect is believed to have stabbed the victim multiple times with a knife before placing her in the car and driving to his home in Kapar," said the police chief.

The police said the man parked in front of his home, attempted to rouse the victim but failed, and then stabbed himself with the same knife

The 44-year-old suspect was arrested by the police when they arrived at his home at 4.20pm on the same day.

"We found the unconscious victim in the front passenger seat. Paramedics who arrived at the scene confirmed the woman had died. The forensic unit also found a knife believed to have been used by the suspect," said Cha.

He added that an autopsy conducted yesterday, 19 December, found multiple stab wounds in the front and back on the victim's body, with the cause of death determined to be a stab wound through the heart.

Cha said the suspect, who has no previous criminal record, is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder

"Police are still investigating the cause of the incident and the investigating officer is completing the paper to be submitted to the deputy public prosecutor for further instructions.

"Anyone with information related to this case is asked to contact the South Klang police headquarters at +603-33762222 or any nearby police station," he added.
