"In conjunction with protecting and saving our planet, customers can bring their own reusable cup or thermos," the statement posted on Sunday, 30 June, read.

The Taiwanese bubble tea chain added that the new policy would come into effect from 1 July.

The Alley also recommends using tumblers that can fit a volume of at least 500ml

500ml is for a M-sized drink, while L-sized drinks need a tumbler that is at least 700ml.

While most drinks can be packed in one's own tumbler, an exception applies to The Alley's Aurora series which is already pre-packed and sold in its own bottles.

Additionally, customers who purchase and use The Alley's reusable tumbler at their stores enjoy extra perks :p

In reply to a Facebook comment, the bubble tea chain said customers who use its branded tumbler can get RM1 off their purchase.

The tumbler is priced at RM89.90, and customers can redeem a free milk tea upon purchasing the tumbler.
