SUKE Highway Changes Its Small Signboard To A Big One After Viral Public Complaints

The Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang Elevated (SUKE) Expressway has replaced a signboard that was too small for motorists to read with a bigger one after receiving viral public complaints
In a Facebook post on Wednesday, 21 September, the operator of the newly-opened highway, Projek Lintasan Kota Holdings Sdn Bhd (Prolintas), said it has taken road users' feedback to improve its signboards to meet the standards set by the authorities.
"The SUKE Expressway operations division is always committed to ensuring the best highway service and advises consumers to remain alert and comply with all the signboards on the SUKE Expressway," it said.

The replacement of the signboard came after at least two viral videos of motorists complaining about the difficulty of reading the signboard due to its small size and high placement
TikTok user @bob_yp said it was fortunate that he did not crash into the divider while he was trying to read the signboard.
Based on the 22-second footage, the signboard was placed above two other road signs, making the already small signboard even harder to read due to its distance from motorists' eye levels.
The caption of another video commented in jest that the signboard was bought from Shopee. Many netizens joked that the signboard was A3-paper in size.
The first phase of the SUKE Expressway opened to the public on 16 September, with the objective of improving traffic congestion in the Klang Valley
The first phase stretches 16.6km, which is from the Cheras-Kajang Interchange to Bukit Antarabangsa, reported Malay Mail.
Currently, the three-lane, dual-carriageway highway is running a one-month toll-free promotion period for all road users to enjoy.
The toll plazas at Bukit Teratai and Ampang, as well as 11 interchanges, will not be taking any fees from motorists in conjunction with the SUKE Expressway's launch.
When the highway is completed, it will span 24.4km, running from Sri Petaling to Ulu Kelang, according to its website.
90% of the highway is elevated, which cuts through 60 residential areas. It is projected to effectively reduce 30% and 36% of traffic from MRR2 and Jalan Ampang, respectively.
