Students Were Tested On Their Uniform Ironing Skills For A Sabah School's Entry Interview
"It's extremely important as it teaches students to at least look tidy in school."
Photos of incoming Form One students ironing school uniforms as part of an interview process for a boarding school in Sabah has gone viral on social media

A former student of Sekolah Menengah Sains Lahad Datu shared the photos on Twitter after finding them on his former teacher's Facebook profile.
At the time of writing, Twitter user @hasifgan's post of the "rare" interview requirement has garnered over 9,000 retweets.
"This is a good change as you probably won't see students wearing wrinkled shirts during morning assemblies anymore," Hasif wrote in the tweet.

"During my time studying there, there was no such thing as an ironing test. If I'm not mistaken, it was introduced this year, for the new intakes," the University Putra Malaysia student, who attended the school from 2010 to 2014, told mStar Online.
"To me, even if this seems like a minor change, it's extremely important as it teaches students to at least look tidy in school."

Netizens sung the school's praises for setting expectations for students to be independent from as early as the interview stage
"When the students' image is tidy, the school's image only gets better. Good thinking!" wrote one Twitter user.
Another netizen joked that, "We need something like this as part of the interview for renting houses. A test on cleaning the sink/kitchen!"
