Selangor Floods Claim 1st Death: Victim Believed To Be In His 30s Found Dead In Shah Alam

Preliminary investigation shows that the man suffered no suspicious injuries and is believed to have died from drowning.

The flash floods have been affecting residents in Selangor since Friday, 17 December, has claimed its first fatality

According to Bernama, the victim was believed to be in his 30s and his body was found at the main entrance of Alam Idaman Apartments in Section 22, Shah Alam.

It is learnt that the body was found last night, 19 December, after the water receded.

Shah Alam district police chief ACP Baharudin Mat Tabi said the police received information about the discovery of the male victim at 7.50pm on Sunday

Baharudin said the victim was a local, reported Malay Mail.

Initial investigation shows that the unidentified man was a resident of the nearby Residensi Hijauan condominium, which is about 350m away from where he was found.

The investigation also revealed that the victim did not have any suspicious injuries on his body. The district police chief said there was no criminal element, reported Kosmo.

"The deceased is believed to have drowned," Baharudin said last night, adding that the case has been classified as sudden death.
