Delivery Rider Allegedly Dies Of Exhaustion While Sending Parcels To His Customer

An Indonesian delivery rider allegedly died of exhaustion while he was working in Jakarta

The incident was revealed by Twitter user @arifnovianto_id, who said that the rider died while delivering parcels to his customer.

According to the deceased's friends, the man died of exhaustion after working long hours in the scorching sun.

"Harsh working conditions and a lack of protection made them vulnerable and exposed to danger," the user wrote.

They also attached a photo of the rider, which shows him laying on the floor in front of a customer's house with his motorcycle next to him.

The tweet went viral with over 2.6 million views and 64,500 likes. Many netizens sympathised with the man and left their thoughts in the comments section.

One user requested that the public be more considerate of riders and offer them food or drinks whenever they can.

"Give back to the courier working for us with our thanks and words of encouragement. Additionally, offer them a drink as well.

"If you have more, give them a tip to make their job easier," they wrote.

Another user, who also happens to be a restaurant owner, said that most riders are friendly and chatty, and they always offer them food at their restaurant.

"Innalilahi, for those who complain that their packages haven't arrived, please look at this. If your house is difficult to find, at least write your address clearly so it makes their job easier," wrote another.
