Netizens Voice Concern After Alleged Child In A Frog Costume Seen Asking For Donations

The video, posted by TikTok user @riz_creative.dev, shows the alleged child seated on a bench in the parking lot near the entrance of a mall in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, collecting donations from passersby while clad in the full-body costume.

Tagging the Social Welfare Department (JKM) and the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), Riz expressed his unease and appealed to the authorities to take action, stressing the importance of protecting children from potential exploitation or neglect.

"Children shouldn't be left alone like this without a guardian or exploited," he wrote in the video caption.

Riz added that he did not have any cash at the time but offered the child some chocolate and snacks.

"I'm only wearing a T-shirt and I'm already sweating," he said, adding that the child must have been there for hours, asking for donations.

"This is so pitiful. Children this age should be playing with their friends, not working to earn a living," one TikTok user commented.

Another added, "Please, this is such a huge issue in Kuantan as well. How do we create awareness and report [these cases]?"

Meanwhile, another said, "We need to stop giving in to pity. If children see begging as an easy way to make money, they won't bother with education. It's sad that some parents are willing to exploit their own children like this!"
