PDRM Arrests Anti-Vax Couple Who Bragged About Dining In Without A Vaccine Certificate

The Facebook post went viral on Monday, 23 August, where the user shared that she and her husband have not been vaccinated against COVID-19 but were able to dine in and visit a barbershop.

According to the post, the woman called their outings "social experiments" to see if business owners would actually ask to see their vaccine certificates and turn them away.

"The last couple of days, after the news told us that people who have completed two vaccines doses can go around, I did my own social experiments," she shared.

"People who are not satisfied with antivaxxers always say that those without two doses should just waste away at home. So I just wanted to test this out. I didn't go to roadside stalls, I went to 7-Eleven, 99 Speedmart, and Pizza Hut," she said.

"I went into every store and not one premise checked to see if I've received two doses. Nobody asked me. Alhamdulillah, Allah made it easy for me."

According to the SOPs, the digital vaccine certificate is only needed at restaurants and a few other economic sectors, but not when entering convenience stores or marts.

"My husband also did his own social experiment, he went to a barber to get a haircut but was chased away. The two barbers he went to knew he didn't have two doses. My poor hubby," the woman wrote.

"At last, there was one barber who didn't ask him any questions – he walked in, got his hair cut, settled."

She added, "Those barbers who chase people away don't need the money, they are definitely rich enough. The barber who didn't ask questions is the one really trying to make a living. So after this, we will only support barbers who want to earn money."

"We saw many people dining in there. So we walked in with confident faces, like we've gotten three doses, and we sat down and ate. Not a single person asked us or checked," she shared.

"Who said you need two vaccine doses to dine in? Even without two doses, we dined in safely this morning. Nothing is impossible."

However, it was not before netizens took screenshots of the concerning confession and found out the family is from Klang, Selangor.

The screenshots have since circulated across social media, with many other netizens getting angered by the couple for their irresponsible behaviours and for endangering the lives of others.

"I pity the children, they got stupid parents," said a Facebook user.

Tagging the police and the Ministry of Health (MOH), another said, "Please pick up these people who like to experiment. They are putting other people at risk."

"They are already not contributing to herd immunity, but are also out to endanger others. These people should just quietly sit at home. She's not just proud, she's showing off."

Meawhile, someone else on Twitter criticised, "She's so arrogant. She's already wrong, but went on to expose herself. Thick!"

In a statement, the South Klang police headquarters said they received a report of the Facebook post belonging to a user named Mujaheeda Soleha on Monday, 23 August.

After finding that the post caused alarm among the public, the officers arrested a man and a woman between the ages of 35 and 36 for investigation under Section 269 and Section 505(b) of the Penal Code, Section 22(b) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988, and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act.
