#Budget2025: Government To Review Over 3,000 Laws That Need To Be Updated

The Finance Minister said the government will form a legal reform team to review outdated laws.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced that the government will be reviewing outdated laws

During the tabling of the 2025 Budget in Parliament today, 18 October, Anwar, who is also the Finance Minister, said over 3,000 outdated laws will be reviewed.

The allocation for the Legal Affairs Division will be increased from RM195 million to RM209 million. The government will also form a legal reform team to review several existing laws, including commercial laws such as the Contract Act 1950.
