Johor Hubby With Temper Punches Doctor Wife Repeatedly After She Asks Him To Stop For Food

A contractor has admitted to assaulting his wife, a doctor, in a violent outburst triggered by her request to stop to buy food from a shop
The incident occurred on the afternoon of 19 September, when Mohd Farid Sahak, 34, was driving with his wife, 32, on Jalan Tukas in Taman Soga, Johor, reported Berita Harian yesterday, 28 October.
She asked him to pull over at a shop to buy food. However, when he ignored her request, an argument ensued, resulting in Mohd Farid lashing out and punching his wife's right arm six times, leaving her injured.
Following the assault, the wife lodged a police report
The husband was arrested on 20 September.
He has been in detention for 40 days while awaiting his case mention, during which time his wife provided statements to the Batu Pahat Magistrate's Court, detailing her experiences of frequent abuse at his hands.
The court heard the victim's statement, in which she expressed her fear of her husband.
"I am afraid of my husband, and I no longer want to live with him," she said while describing his hot temper.
According to the victim, he has "frequent outbursts" and assaults her regularly without reason.

A conviction under Section 323 carries a maximum sentence of one year or a fine of up to RM2,000 or both. Section 326A doubles the maximum penalty in cases of repeated offences against the same victim.
In his defence, Mohd Farid expressed remorse, stating that he "still loved" his wife and their child and wished to reunite with them after his time in prison.
"I can't bear staying in prison any longer," he told the court.
He was sentenced to one month in jail.
However, since Mohd Farid's one-month sentence commenced from his arrest on 20 September, he was released yesterday, having served his term during pre-sentencing detention.
