All 6 On Board Helicopter That Crashed In Cameron Highlands Found Safe

It is understood that the helicopter was headed to Tanjung Rambutan, Perak, from Kampung Gawin in Gua Musang, Kelantan.

A search and rescue (SAR) operation is underway after a helicopter carrying six people onboard crashed in Cameron Highlands, Pahang, at 1.15pm today, 26 October

The helicopter is believed to have crashed in the Brinchang forest after departing from Kampung Gawin in Gua Musang, Kelantan. It was on its way to Tanjung Rambutan, Perak, reported New Straits Times.

A statement by the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) indicated that the first SAR land unit was dispatched to the crash site within 19 minutes of receiving notification.

The aircraft is believed to be an Airbus AS 355 F2 helicopter and was operated by a private company, Layang Layang Aerospace Sdn Bhd.

Those on board were believed to be Ministry of Health (MOH) staff members and the pilot

A tweet by Bernama stated that all five passengers and the pilot were safe, citing the Pahang police chief.

All the victims were found to have minor injuries, however, one suffered a thigh fracture, according to the Bomba & Penyelamat Negeri Pahang Facebook page. They received initial treatment at the scene before being taken to a safe place. 

CAAM said an investigation into the incident will be conducted by the Air Accident Investigation Bureau under the Ministry of Transport.
