Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said that the government will no longer approve or procure projects without a proper tender

Anwar added that the unity government he leads will not tolerate leaks or corruption in the country, reported New Straits Times.

"The approval and procurement without tender should no longer be allowed, to ensure corruption will not take place. This cannot and should not happen anymore at all levels," said the new Prime Minister during his inaugural monthly assembly with officers in the Prime Minister's Department this morning, 29 November.

Anwar also stated that he would not allow family members to be assigned to government projects

He went on to say that the country's previous leaders and their decisions had affected civil servants' lives, and that Malaysia needed a change.

"Once, we were at the top and had achieved tremendous success, but it [Malaysia] has digressed in terms of our economic stability, because of violations of laws and fraud cases involving leaders and civil servants," he said.

"Hence, I hope we can bring this spirit together to change the country for the better."
