Earlier this week, 17 June, a 17-year-old student stabbed his counselling teacher at a religious school in Sungai Manggis, Banting

The Star Online reported that the incident took place in the assistant warden's room at 8.20pm on Monday when the teacher, Muhammad Hasnan Salim, entered the room after taking off his shoes.

According to Kuala Langat police chief Superintendent Azizan Tukiman, the suspect had been waiting for the victim in the room that night

“As the victim was entering his office, the suspect stabbed him with a knife on the shoulder,” he said as quoted by NST Online.

"The victim was stabbed a few times in the shoulder before the suspect ran away," he added.

Upon arriving at the scene after receiving a call, the police found that the knife was still embedded in the teacher's shoulder

The victim was immediately rushed to the Banting Hospital before he was brought to Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang for further treatment.

Azizan said that the victim, who is in his 30s, is now in a stable condition after surgery.

It is revealed that the attack was an act of revenge because the teacher had reprimanded the student earlier

According to NST Online, the suspect had also failed in several subjects over the last month.

“Dissatisfied and stressed (for being admonished), the suspect waited for the victim outside the teacher’s office on the ground floor of the hostel," the police chief said.

The suspect has been remanded for five days until Friday, 21 June

The suspect has also been referred to the Psychiatric Unit at Banting Hospital.

“The case has been classified as solved and the investigations papers will be referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor soon for the next course of action,” he said as reported by The Star Online.

The case was investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous harm.
