The newborn was discovered to have been abandoned by his 15-year-old mother who was trying to hide her pregnancy from her parents

The teenager has been charged with child abandonment and attempted murder.

Officer Panuwat Puttakam from Chum Phuang police station told Bangkok Post that she regrets her actions and is in the care of her parents and psychologist.

The girl's parents have decided to raise the baby.

Though Ping Pong only has three working legs after getting hit by a car, his owner Usa Nisaikha kept him because "he's so loyal and obedient"

"He's loved by the entire village. It's amazing," he said.
