The Pakatan Harapan-Barisan Nasional (PH-BN) pact will form the next state government in Penang after winning the state election

Caretaker Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said the PH-BN coalition won a total of 29 seats, of which DAP won 19, PKR won seven, BN won two, and Amanah won one.

DAP won all 19 seats it contested in.

In total, there are 40 seats, of which Perikatan Nasional (PN) won 11

It takes 27 seats to form a government with a two-thirds majority.

Meanwhile, taking to his Facebook page, Yeow expressed his gratitude to "all supporters of Penang's unity candidates, including those from Padang Kota, the constituency" that he contested for.

"Thank you for stepping forward and making your voice heard in the state election. Your mandate is invaluable, and it fuels our efforts to drive positive change and fulfil the promises we have made. Together, we will embark on a journey towards progress, unity, and prosperity for all. Looking forward to serving you again," read his post.
