Anwar Says He Stands By Rule Of Law After Court Dismisses Bid To Refer Case
This comes after the High Court rejected his move to refer eight constitutional questions to the Federal Court.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has reaffirmed his commitment to the rule of law after the High Court rejected his move to refer eight constitutional questions to the Federal Court

In a statement on Tuesday, 4 June, Anwar clarified that the application, made under Article 128(2) of the Federal Constitution, was not about avoiding scrutiny or seeking personal immunity.
"[This matter] concerns the integrity of our constitutional system and the need to ensure that high public office is protected from litigation that may be strategically timed, politically motivated, or institutionally disruptive," he said.

He also stressed his continued support for judicial independence and democratic governance.
"The legal process will continue, and I will continue to discharge my responsibilities without distraction or compromise," he added.
The court's decision is tied to a 2021 civil suit filed by Anwar's former research officer, Muhammed Yusoff Rawther. The trial is set to begin on 16 June.
