Asia's Got Talent Judges Were Seriously Impressed By This Malaysian "Human Calculator"
"I want to prove that Maths is actually a very fun and easy thing to do," said Yaashwin.
On a recent episode of Asia's Got Talent, a 15-year-old mathematician from Kuala Lumpur showed off his ability to do mathematics faster than a calculator
Dressed in a smart suit, the SMK Bandar Tun Hussein Onn student introduced himself as a "human calculator"
"I want to prove that Maths is actually a very fun and easy thing to do," said Yaashwin.
His act, which he described as "speed mental calculation", required judge David Foster to assist him by doing additions and multiplications using a calculator while he did it in his head.

After breezing through the first two rounds, answering faster than Foster did with a calculator, the 15-year-old increased the level of difficulty
"Lets try division. Give me a three digit divided by a one digit, and try using odd numbers so you get decimal points at the back," said the young mathematician.
After Foster declared that the equation would be "589 divided by 7", the judge told Yaashwin to say his answer in unison with him.

The crowd erupted in applause after Yaashwin says the correct answer, 84.14285714285, aloud together with Foster.
"That's just division!" he said.

For his final trick, the 15-year-old repeatedly added a random number by itself while Foster continuously pressed the equals key on the calculator

With the number 74 suggested by judge Anggun, Yaashwin effortlessly answers faster than Foster could key in the numbers.
"148, 222, 296, 370, 444, 518, 592, 666, 740, 814, 888, 962, 1036, 1110, 1184, 1258, 1332, 1406," he said, before Anggun joked that he was going too fast.
He continued to do the additions until Foster gave up.

"It was astounding. You are a human calculator, there's no doubt about it," said Foster.

"It was certainly fun to watch you beat the calculator," said Anggun, while fellow judge Jay Park told him that, "I don't like math, so what you do is very impressive".
All three judges voted yes, allowing the teenager to proceed to the next round and stand a chance to win the grand prize of USD100,000 (RM 408,808).

Yaashwin can be seen hugging a family member after walking off stage.
