31-Year-Old 'Abang Botak' Gets A Year In Jail For Smashing Windscreen With His Helmet

31-year-old Danial Abdullah Tan, who was arrested yesterday for smashing a woman's windscreen in Serdang, has been sentenced to jail earlier today

New Straits Times reported that Danial, who has been dubbed as 'Abang Botak' by netizens, received a 12-month jail sentence at the Petaling Jaya Magistrate Court today, 31 May. 

Magistrate Nurshahira Abdul Salim meted out the sentence after the 31-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence of causing mischief.

Danial claimed that he committed the crime after the 22-year-old driver of a Perodua Alza nearly hit him twice

Sinar Harian reported him as saying that he was "forced" to stop the car in order to confront the woman.

"I wanted to confront her, but she showed me the middle finger. That made me smash her car. I apologise," Danial said in court, according to Sinar Harian. 

The Alza belongs to 58-year-old Siew Chean Voon.

The former factory storage assistant was convicted under Section 427 of the Penal Code

The provision carries a maximum jail sentence of five years or fine, or both, upon conviction. 

Dashcam footage of him smashing the windscreen of the Perodua Alza went viral on social media this week.
