19-Year-Old In Semenyih Arrested For Allegedly Promoting Child Pornography

Recently, police arrested a 19-year-old on suspicion of being involved in promoting child pornography through social media platforms
The arrest came after a screenshot promoting child pornography went viral, reported Bernama.
According to Kajang district police chief ACP Mohd Zaid Hassan, the suspect was detained in Semenyih by Bukit Aman Sexual, Women, and Child Investigations Division (D11) on Wednesday, 16 June.
"We believe the man was involved in activities involving pornography on the Internet and promoting various sexual activities involving children through social media," The Star quoted him as saying yesterday.
The suspect's mobile phone was also seized
ACP Mohd Zaid said that it contained illicit pictures and videos of children.
"We believe he was planning to promote the immoral activities to the public and to certain parties. He has been remanded until Sunday, 20 June, for further investigation," he added.
The case is being investigated under Section 292 of the Penal Code and Section 10 of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.
