Over the past few months, numerous fast-food chains and hypermarkets have announced that they will participate in the initiative to sell Menu Rahmah food for RM5

Aside from large corporations, small business owners are now selling homemade food products at the same low price.

Azrehan Zakaria, the brains behind @theadesserts, recently captured netizens' attention after she began posting videos of her small business, where she sells slices of premium cakes for only RM5.

In an Instagram Reel she posted on her account, she shared that she is selling her cakes from the boot of her car, which is usually parked in front of Lakefront Homes, Cyberjaya.

The video also shows several cakes neatly displayed inside the boot, sitting on top of a white sheet.

At the time of writing, the video has garnered over 92,700 views and has been shared 1,667 times across the platform.

Azrehan got the idea to sell slices of premium cakes for only RM5 from her past hobby of cafe-hopping

The business owner told mStar she noticed the cafe she used to go to sold slices of cake for more than RM10 each.

She added that at the time, she wanted to try the various cake types they were serving, so paying a lot of money for a single slice was not worth it to her.

"That's when I got the idea to sell a slice of cake for RM5. My customers could buy different types of cake without the guilt of overspending," she said.

She went on to say that the main goal of her business is to "sell premium-quality cakes at reasonable prices".

She said that after she posted videos of her business on Instagram, it grew quickly and all of her cakes began selling out in just one day

She went on to say that she expanded her small booth and began selling her cakes on tables around her car.

After doing so, all 30 of her cakes were sold out, with some customers purchasing them wholesale.

"Alhamdulillah (all the praises and thanks be to God), the cakes were sold out in just two hours. If we receive more encouragement from our buyers, I will try to add more cakes," she said.

Azrehan's booth is currently selling 11 different types of cakes, including rainbow cake, Nutella chocolate, raspberry pistachio chocolate, Biscoff burnt cheesecake, and Biscoff Russian.

"I am touched when I read comments asking me the location of our booth, the opening time, and a lot of other positive feedback. All of those inspire me to continue with this passion," she added.
