To put their idea to the test, Borenos recently sent a team up the mountain along with its adorable mascot to see if it was feasible

The local fried chicken brand, established in 2015, documented the team's journey on its TikTok page.

The climb on 28 October saw windy and rainy weather on Mount Kinabalu.

However, despite the unfavourable weather conditions, the team was able to bring their signature fried chicken up to the peak to be enjoyed.

Borenos managing director Janice Yeo said they have been receiving plenty of requests from customers to deliver all over Sabah, including to Mount Kinabalu

"[There are] climbers who want to eat delicious fried chicken during their climb," she revealed.

"As Sabah's first local fast food brand, we want to accomplish something new that other brands have not achieved before, and we want to show that we are willing to go the extra mile to deliver fresh fried chicken to our customers no matter where they are," she added.

Yeo divulged that the idea also came from recent news, where a hiker in Japan ordered a pizza to be delivered up Mount Fuji, and sure enough, a delivery man climbed five hours to deliver a pizza to the summit.

The local brand and its ambitious project has since gotten plenty of support from netizens on its TikTok page

"I want to eat Borenos on Mount Kinabalu!" concurred a TikTok user.

"Wow! Delivery to the peak of the mountain. Nice!" another praised.

Meanwhile, others chuckled and questioned the price of the delivery by the time it reaches the summit.
