While dim sum is typically non-halal, these mouthwatering morsels also have pork-free and halal counterparts.

We've compiled a list of Muslim-friendly dim sum restaurants so you can satisfy those cravings

1. Zuan Yuan, One World Hotel (Bandar Utama, PJ) [Halal]

Zuan Yuan Chinese Restaurant at One World Hotel, PJ boasts an extensive list of halal dim sum.

Some must-trys are the Taro Dumpling with Onion and Black Pepper Chicken, and the Stir-Fried Turnip Cake with Spicy Dried Shrimp Sauce, mmm!

They even have an all-you-can-eat dim sum buffet on weekends and public holidays at only RM68 for adults and RM34 for kids aged six to 12. However, this is applicable for dine-ins only.

During the Movement Control Order (MCO) period, Zuan Yuan Chinese Restaurant also does deliveries within a 10km radius, as well as takeaways. Just place your order over the phone :)

From traditional dim sum dishes to wok-fried favourites, Dolly Dim Sum has them all.

Dolly Dim Sum has many branches scattered all over PJ and KL, so you can definitely find one at your nearest mall when you're having those dim sum cravings.

They've got restaurants in Avenue K, NU Sentral, The Curve, IOI City Mall, Pavilion, Sunway Putra Mall, and Sunway Pyramid!

Notable must-trys include their signature Golden Fish Cracker, which consists of fish paste with cheese spread between two cream crackers, and the refreshing Iced Sea Coconut Surprise.

Initially known as China Treasures at Sime Darby Convention Centre, Jade Treasures has now relocated to the hustling town of Taman Tun Dr Ismail.

Helmed by a renowned Chinese chef, they make delicious halal dim sum that will satiate any palate.

They allow takeaways, so all you gotta do is just call them beforehand to place an order :9

They've got over 30 different varieties of dim sum for you to try out. From fried dumplings to steamed siew mai, you can find what your tummy desires here, hehe.

Way Modern Chinois is an avant-garde modern Chinese restaurant that serves contemporary Asian cuisine.

Here, you'll find signature Chinese dishes made with a twist, like the Truffle Crab Soup Dumpling and the Prawn Dumpling With X.O. Sauce, that'll leave you satisfied during your yum cha sesh.

I personally enjoyed Way Modern Chinois' interpretation of Wok-Fried Chee Cheong Fun. Rolled rice sheets are deep-fried to give them a nice crunch on the outside, and then stir-fried in a spicy paste that's packed with flavour.

While they have a delivery option on their website, please take note that some items are only available until 3pm.

If you're in the yum cha scene, you'll know that a dim sum session is never complete without some XLB, or xiao long bao.

As the only Taiwanese restaurant to win a Michelin Star, DIN by Din Tai Fung serves mouthwatering pork-free soup dumplings so everyone can experience a taste of Taiwan.

However, the only pork-free Din Tai Fung outlets are at NU Sentral and Suria KLCC, so just be mindful of that!

DIN by Din Tai Fung has food delivery, takeaway, and drive-thru options, so you can place your orders through the phone and enjoy some good XLB at home :3

With a consistently good track record of producing premium dim sum over the past few years, Yun House has a pretty good selection of both steamed and fried delicacies.

The interior of the place looks super atas, so you can nibble on your food while channelling your inner tai tai.

Some must-trys include their Crystal Shrimp Dumpling, Spring Roll with Foie Gras and Seafood, and the Bird’s Nest Egg Tart :9

Just call them if you wanna place a takeaway order, or visit their website to order food via delivery. However, do note that they are only able to deliver food within the vicinity of KL during the MCO period.
