It took him 54 days to collect it.

A man in Jamaica, who recently won the jackpot, showed up to claim his prize wearing a mask so that his relatives could not recognise him

On 5 February, Super Lotto winner - only known as A. Campbell - wore a white cape, black gloves, and a Scream mask to claim his prize worth more than JMD158 million (RM4.76 million), The Washington Post reported.

However, it took him nearly two months to collect his giant cheque because he felt sick

"From the day I found out that I won, I've been sick," Campbell said, according to CTV News.

"My head hurt me for three days because I was thinking so much, if what I've been longing for really come true. I had a belly ache for two weeks, sometimes I feel so much pain I forgot that I won."

Although Campbell knew that the deadline to collect his money was coming up in February, he said, "I just wanted to get myself together before I came forward"

It may have taken him awhile, but at least those 54 days gave Campbell time to think about how he wanted to spend the money.

"I want to get a house, I want to get a nice house. I haven't found it yet, but I'll be looking for one soon… I love to have money," he told Jamaica Star.

It's apparently a common practice for lottery winners to disguise themselves when they collect their cheques

Security expert Robert Finzi-Smith explained to Jamaica Star that Super Lotto winners can protect themselves by hiding their identities.

"Once somebody knows that you've come into a sum of money, a little larger than normal, you suddenly start to find that you have relatives that you didn't know that you had."

Last year, a lottery winner wore a winking emoji mask when she picked up her cheque.
