A durian seller in Terengganu recently went viral after TikTok users began thirsting over him for selling durian shirtless

In a 12-second clip that he posted on TikTok, the seller, Ery Syarif, showed himself cutting the fruit open while only wearing glasses, slippers, and a pair of trousers.

His physique drew the attention of netizens, and at the time of writing, the video has garnered over 236,500 views and 10,000 likes.

While the majority of netizens adored Ery, some expressed their displeasure in the comments section

"Thank God I don't eat durian. I don't have an excuse to ask my husband to buy it," wrote another in jest.

"If you can, try to buy from sellers who cover up, no matter if they're a man or a woman," wrote another.

Despite some negative comments, the widower and father of three stated that he accepted the criticism with open arms

Ery told mStar that he did not expect the video to go viral and that he paid no attention to the negative comments it received.

"I'm not selling my dignity. I still have my pants on and not just wearing my underwear, it's just that you can see a bit of my belly button," he said.

"Thank you for the positive comments. Even if you don't buy the durian, the support still matters to me," he added.

Ery also revealed that he began selling durian earlier this year and managed to earn between RM1,000 and RM1,500 per month so far

He also said that he is currently managing his family's keropok lekor store full-time, which is located in Kampung Tanjung Paya, Kuala Terengganu.

"Selling durian is only my part-time job and I work full-time for my family's keropok lekor business. We opened the shop right after the Movement Control Order (MCO)," he said.

"During the MCO, we were selling keropok lekor behind our house. We then opened our own store when we had enough savings. At our shop, customers can see how keropok lekor is made and they can buy it too," he added.

He also invites the public to visit his family's keropok lekor business, Keropok Kak Tie Tanjung.
