This is on top of winning Best Directing, Best Original Screenplay, and Best International Feature Film

Bong's film won a total of four awards at the 92nd edition of the prestigious award show, which was held at the Dolby Theatre, Los Angeles, California on Sunday night, 9 February (9am Malaysian time today, 10 February).

It was also nominated for Best Production Design and Best Film Editing.

"Thank you so much. When I was young and studying cinema, there was a saying that I carved deep into my heart, which is that 'the most personal is the most creative'. That quote is from our great Martin Scorsese," Bong said and received a standing ovation, reported The Hollywood Reporter.

"When I was in school, I studied Martin Scorsese's films. Just to be nominated was a huge honour. I never thought I would win."

He concluded his brief speech by saying in jest that he will drink until the next morning.

If you missed the film when it premiered in Malaysia last August, fret not. Parasite has made a return to the big screen.

TGV Cinemas and Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) are screening the film again in selected cinemas.

Joker, directed by Todd Phillips, will also see reruns in both cinemas.
