The announcement was made by Billboard via Twitter last night, 30 January, announcing the girls as one of the award recipients alongside other influential female artistes.

TWICE's official Twitter account confirmed that the girl group will be receiving the Breakthrough Award at the ceremony, which will take place on 1 March 2023, at the YouTube Theatre in Los Angeles, California.

Following the announcement, #TWICE_BBWomenInMusic, began trending with fans congratulating the girls for the achievement.

Hosted by award-winning actress Quinta Brunson, the ceremony will present awards to Becky G, Kim Petras, Lana Del Rey, and other female artistes, each with a special category.

TWICE, a group of nine multitalented women, have been breaking various records since their debut in 2015. Their recent single, Moonlight Sunrise, just debuted on this week's Billboard Hot 100 at number 84.
